Bombshell: More stars than you can shake a stick at!

I saw Bombshell yesterday and loved every Loverboy Lovin' Ever Minute of it!! The writing was great. SO good, it had me taking notes. "Hoodies are creepy," says Beth "Dirty John" Ailes. I won't spoil it for you. Go take your OWN notes.

First, the casting was incredible. I always think of John Sayles longtime partner, Maggie Renzi on stars in movies. She said it was disconcerting to the story when you kept having to go, "Oh, that's so and so from this or that show." Bombshell tackled that problem by casting great so and so's from all the shows with right-on perfection. It was like a big huge obscene wedding cake that Roger Ailes tries to gobble down all at once. You just can't stop once you get going. Titillating to all the senses. And, yeah, that WAS Malcolm McDowell playing Rupert Murdoch with his twerky-ass Clockwork self!

I can't wait to get to the best part of the whole thing, my new favorite movie-star-actress-phenomenon, Margot Robbie. I've watched her go from Tanya Harding to Elizabeth I to Sharon Tate and now, little Kayla. And, I believe this is my favorite. She made me cry real tears over a fictional made-up character. She made it genuine and she made it hurt. She was every little girl who's ever been done wrong. Hey, Margot, I love you!!

Charlize Theron is Megyn Kelly. I sat and watched while I daydreamed about Nicole Kidman (Gretchen Carlson) playing the title role in my book, 'Jules, the Truth Finder." But, her performance pulled me out of my own private little fantasy. All three of these ladies played well together in a group project. You got the sense they were committed to something more going on here, something to do with the greater good.

I was hesitant about this film, since there've been so many articles, stories, other projects, namely the Showtime limited series, 'The Loudest Voice.' Both John Lithgow (Bombshell''s Ailes) and Russell Crowe (The Loudest Voice version) brought their own takes on the huger-than-life donut munching creep to the big screen. It was interesting to me to discover how instrumental Ailes was in putting shit-asses in the white house. And, sisters are doing it for themselves lawyer, Robin "Deadwood" Weigert a.k.a. "Sons of Anarchy."

Notable, and everybody really did their job, was Brooke Smith who I always love to watch ever since way back when her cat was the only witness to her getting thrown into the back of Buffalo Bill's van. Kate McKinnon as the secret Democrat-lesbian, a double whammy at Fox. Richard Kind's Rudi Guliani.

Another star of this movie is the editing. The interlacing of stock footage into the tapestry of the film lifted you into another stratosphere and really suspended your disbelief. It became a story within a story, a Bill O'Reilly player humped up next to the real O'Reilly. Not an easy feat to pull off, but Bombshell did it and did it well. Mark Duplass "The Morning Show's" Chip as Mr. Megyn Kelly. But, really and truly, everybody did a good job. It really was a group effort and very pleasing to watch on screen.

But, can I just say Greta Van Susteren a couple of times. I could NOT take my eyes off whoever (Mad About You Anne Ramsay) played her! They couldn't have her onscreen too much, because she was just too much fun to ogle. Those damn teeth hahaha!!

I will watch this film again and rarely do that outside of movies shot in the 70's. I give it five good fucks.
